Our Outdoor Classroom ‘Project Acorn’
In the summer of 2018, All Saints Primary PTA were awarded a grant from Wokingham United Charities to develop an outdoor classroom in the extensive school grounds. This area, officially opened on 9 July 2019, was transformed ‘ground force’ style into a fully landscaped, accessible space for children to learn in and for wildlife to flourish.
‘Project Acorn’ was made possible by the hard work of over 40 volunteers, adults and children – sometimes in the rain – and some very generous donations from our community.
The outdoor classroom is fully accessible to all our children, including those with physical disabilities. It is not just a garden but a place to learn, about plants, newts, frogs and bees. It’s a wonderful area for seeking peace and calm.
